Notification settings show the message types and channels available for your business. Use the page to review the recommended setup, operational alerts, and per-notification controls for customers and your team.
Open notification settings#
Go to Admin > Settings > Notifications.
How channels work#
Each notification row shows the channels available for that message type. The page uses Email, Phone lane, and Push columns. A channel that is not available for a row cannot be enabled there.
Phone options are combined into one Phone lane so that SMS and WhatsApp are configured together. Depending on the row, the available options are Off, WhatsApp, SMS, or WhatsApp, then SMS.
The rows and available channels depend on the notification type and business configuration. Treat the labels shown on the page as the source for what you can change.
Booking notifications#
Booking and appointment messages appear in separate categories when they are available for your business. Staff & Teachers contains notifications for your team. Review each row's description and channel controls before changing it.
Payment and subscription notifications#
The Payments and Subscriptions categories show payment, billing, membership, and subscription messages. The page shows the specific message description and the channels available for that row.
Engagement notifications#
Engagement messages are grouped under customer engagement when they are available. Review the message description and select only the channels that fit your business's communication plan.
SMS requirements#
SMS is one of the options in the Phone lane. It appears only on notification rows that support it. If you need to change the phone option, use the row's selector rather than separate SMS and WhatsApp switches.
Push and WhatsApp#
Push has its own control when the notification row supports it. WhatsApp is selected through the Phone lane, either on its own or before SMS. If a channel is unavailable for a row, review another supported channel or check the notification type's description.
Configure a notification#
- Go to Admin > Settings > Notifications.
- Review Recommended setup and the status of Required records and Operational attention.
- If you need more control, open Advanced settings.
- Find the notification category and message type.
- Change the supported Email, Phone lane, or Push control for that row. Some email notifications are always on, and a control is not shown when a channel is unavailable.
- Wait for the Saved confirmation before leaving the page.
Best practices#
- Start with Recommended setup and change individual rows only when you know which message they control.
- Remember that Required records and Operational attention are separate parts of the recommended setup.
- Use the Phone lane selector when choosing between Off, WhatsApp, SMS, and WhatsApp then SMS.
- Operational alerts are off by default until an owner or manager enables the business policy.
- Review notification settings after changing the workflows that the messages describe.
