- Review the product details and select Create Product.
Step-by-Step Setup#
Basic Information#
Use a name that states the important terms customers need to recognize, such as “Monthly Unlimited Membership” or “8 Classes Monthly”. The current creation form does not have a separate Membership Type selector. Use Class Limit and Usage Limit for the class access choices shown in the form.
Pricing & Billing#
Enter the Price and choose a Billing Frequency: Weekly, Every 2 Weeks, Monthly, Every 3 Months, Every 6 Months, or Yearly. Show the selected terms clearly in the product description and review the customer-facing listing before sharing it.
Usage limits#
Choose Class Limit: Limited or Unlimited. When it is Limited, enter a Usage Limit. Review Class Coverage as well, because the class limit and the covered classes are separate settings.
Membership Behavior Settings#
Starts When#
The form offers On Purchase, First Class Booked, and Fixed Date under Starts When. Fixed Date also shows a Start Date field. Confirm the customer-facing terms for the selected option before describing when a membership begins. The activation choice alone does not establish when a first charge occurs.
Who Can Purchase#
For Memberships, the form offers Everyone, Once Per Customer, and New Members Only. Choose the option that matches the offer, then check the customer-facing purchase flow before sharing it.
Offer Type#
Memberships are Standard offers in the current creation form. It does not provide Intro Offer or Free Trial for a Membership. For a fixed introductory class offer, create a Class pack and review its Offer Type and Who Can Purchase settings.
Renewal behavior#
Use Membership for the recurring product type. If you intend to offer a one-time class pack, choose Class pack instead. Review the renewal and cancellation terms shown in the customer-facing purchase flow before communicating them.
Date Options#
Choose Fixed Date under Starts When when the form should show a Start Date field. Review the date and the resulting customer-facing terms before sharing the product.
Common Membership Examples#
Monthly Unlimited#
Choose Monthly under Billing Frequency and Unlimited under Class Limit. Review the product's class coverage before sharing it.
New members only#
Choose New Members Only under Who Can Purchase. The product remains a Standard Membership in the current form. If you need a fixed introductory class offer, use a Class pack and check its customer-facing terms.
Limited Monthly Plan#
Choose Monthly, set Class Limit to Limited, and enter the Usage Limit.
Annual Membership#
Choose Yearly under Billing Frequency and set the appropriate Class Limit. Put the billing period in the name or description so customers can recognize it.
Cohort Start Membership#
Choose Fixed Date under Starts When and enter the Start Date. Review the customer-facing terms before sharing the product.
Membership Rules & Logic#
Key Rules to Remember#
The form keeps these choices separate:
- Billing Frequency selects the displayed frequency option.
- Class Limit selects Limited or Unlimited.
- Usage Limit appears for a Limited class limit.
- Starts When selects On Purchase, First Class Booked, or Fixed Date.
- Who Can Purchase controls the available eligibility choice.
Billing Behavior#
The creation form lets you select Billing Frequency and Starts When. Check the customer-facing purchase flow for the exact terms of the combination you choose before publishing or communicating a charge date.
Membership Pricing Strategy#
Monthly Memberships#
Choose a Price, Billing Frequency, and Class Limit that match the offer you want to present. Name the plan so customers can distinguish it from other options.
Intro Offers#
The current form does not mark a Membership as Intro Offer. For a fixed introductory class offer, use a Class pack with Intro Offer and review its validity and eligibility settings.
Annual Memberships#
For a yearly plan, show the selected Yearly frequency clearly in the name or description and review the listing before sharing it.
Best Practices#
Membership Structure#
Start with a small set of plans whose class limit, frequency, and eligibility are easy to compare.
Naming & Communication#
State the Billing Frequency, Class Limit, and important coverage restrictions in the product name or description. Use the labels shown in the creation form.
Trial Strategy#
There is no separate Free Trial choice for a Membership in the current form. If you need an introductory class offer, use a Class pack with Intro Offer and explicit customer-facing terms.
Changing a membership later#
Reprice the existing membership#
Open the existing product in Admin > Products and edit its Price field. Review the product details and customer-facing listing after saving.
Replace the membership when the offer changes materially#
For a change to the plan's structure, review the Replace product flow and its effect on existing customer commitments before confirming. See Product Settings Guide and Class Coverage for Products.
Eligibility Management#
Use Everyone, Once Per Customer, or New Members Only only when that choice matches the offer. Check the customer-facing purchase flow before advertising the plan.
Legacy products#
If an older product uses different labels, review its current detail view and existing customer commitments before changing it. Use the current creation form labels for new Memberships.
After Creating Your Membership#
Open the product in Admin > Products and check its status, Price, Billing Frequency, eligibility, and Class Coverage. Confirm that the details match the offer you intend to share.
Next Steps#
Share the product's public listing after checking its name, description, frequency, eligibility, and coverage. See the public product guide for customer-facing context.
Troubleshooting#
The membership is not visible: Review its status, public listing, and eligibility settings.
A customer cannot book an expected class: Check the membership's Class Coverage and the class booking options.
The terms are unclear: Check the selected Billing Frequency, Class Limit, Starts When, and Who Can Purchase values, then inspect the customer-facing purchase flow.
For a one-time class pack, see Creating Class Packs.
